Projects & EVENTS

One of the most effective ways you can help make a difference is by supporting and advertising our events. Be an advocate for change – like and promote M.A.D!

— Ride the Wave Festival

The inaugural Ride the Wave Festival set out in June 2021 to establish itself as a premier annual festival. With approximately 2000 attending the festival across three days the inaugural festival was successful in raising funds to complete the Make a Difference PMQ food van and will also contribute towards an accompanying food trailer! The Ride the Wave Festival will become an annual fundraising event for M.A.D that showcases our region to the wider community whilst advocating for the disadvantaged and marginalised. The festival will continue to feature an open division surf competition, a skateboarding competition, market stalls with food vendors, and live music. Follow our social media pages and keep an eye on web page updates for information regarding the RIDE THE WAVE FESTIVAL 2022.

- M.A.D Flood Appeal

The recent floods in our local area have been nothing short of devastating with many people losing their homes, cars and belongings. Brigadoon Holiday Park at North Haven has been devastated by these floods with 96 permanent residents suffering extensive damage to their homes and losing the majority of their possessions. Most are in their 80's and 90's and don't have any funds to rebuild or purchase new items. Homes require extensive repairs prior to re-occupation and some are beyond repair. There is an urgent need for washing machines and fridges for residents who are due to move back into their homes once the repairs are complete. Contribute to the appliance drive or make a donation here.

— Vikings Rugby Union Club Sponsors Day

Join us on Saturday 29th May as we join with Port Macquarie Vikings Rugby Union Club to celebrate local community fundraising at its best.

— Charity Golf Day

Emerald Downs Golf Course Port Macquarie hosted a Charity Golf Day in support of Make a Difference PMQ. This event coupled with raffles was a great day of fun for all whilst highlighting awareness for the homeless and disadvantaged in our community.

— MAD Jazz at Bago

This annual event is a major fundraiser for MAD that is held in the beautiful surrounds of Bago Vineyards. A number of community jazz bands perform on the day with activities for families, raffles and a BBQ lunch.

— Local Schools

A number of local schools contribute to MAD projects by holding fundraising events within their community such as cake stalls and out of uniform days.

— Charity Dinners

MAD charity dinners have taken place at local venues such as Black Duck Brewery, Bills Fishhouse and Moorebeer Brewing Co. These ticketed events have included raffles, supported generously by local businesses and auctions and helped raised much needed funds to operate our service.

— Black Duck Goes Orange

A fantastic evening at Black Duck Brewery with beer, pizza and tunes. All money raised went to support MAD as they raise funds for an Orange Sky Laundry Van.
