RIDE THE SOUND WAVE

Across two mammoth days Ride the Sound Wave 2022 will host Oz rock royalty British India, Dallas Crane and The Casanovas, feature indie rock queens Clews, and acoustic sensation Gaudion and Dusty Boots in the beautiful surrounds of Town Beach Port Macquarie as part of the broader Ride the Wave Festival hosted by local charity Make a Difference PMQ.

The festival aims  to support and strengthen youth culture and regional tourism whilst advocating for the marginalised and disadvantaged in the local community.
Supporting the line up will be local acts led by indie punk rockers SCUFFS, Royal Chant, Lismore band Humans Dinosaur Machine, the inimitable Mat Brooker, Mikk and DJs Luke Cousins & Ollie Brooke. Accompanying this music festival with a difference will be a Battle of the Bands style competition advocating for new music in the area.

A further announcement will be coming soon with more bands and artists joining the roster.

BATTLE OF THE BANDS

‘Live Set’ is the Ride the Sound Wave Online Battle of the Bands competition for amateur bands, solo acoustic artists and DJs.

Sponsored by local music store Coastal Music winners receive a prize pack and an opportunity to perform a live set on stage at the Ride the Sound Wave music festival.

Finalists will have their audition videos posted on the Ride the Wave Festival You Tube Channel where a popular vote will take place.

market stalls

The Town Beach precinct will come alive with a festival like atmosphere being created on Saturday, 25 June with market stalls, food vendors and activities for children.

A special addition to this festival is the over 18s “Barrel Room” beer garden complimented by live music on the main stage.

SKATE COMP & CLINIC

Port Macquarie Skate Park will play host to a new and exciting competition for the Region.

The competition will include the following divisions: Girls, Boys 16 and under and Boys 12 and under. Within each division, participants will be able to enter the categories of Street, Bowl and Best Trick.

A Scooter competition will also take place where participants can showcase their skills and tricks.

SURF COMPETITION

In partnership with Surfing NSW, Port Macquarie Boardriders and Port Macquarie Surf School, the surfing competition will take place across two weekends.

The longboard competition will be held on Saturday 18th and Sunday, 19th June. The shortboard competition will be held on Friday, 24 June, Saturday 25 June with the Finals on Sunday, 26 June. 

Divisions and entry details will be housed on the entry page on the Surfing NSW website soon.

Prize money and great Prize packs are up for grabs.
